Little Cabin in the Woods
Every since I was young, I've always wanted a cabin. A quiet place to retreat from the world to enjoy nature, family and friends. We bought this cabin just before our anniversary in July of 2013. Since then, with the help of many friends and family, we've finished the basement and made a cozy little nest. Our hope is that all who stay here will find respite and peace and maybe a little adventure as well. Feel free to add to out family blog and share your experiences!

On one of our first mornings there, I went out back
ReplyDeletewith Nala and a cup of peppermint tea to soak up the solitude. As I sat on the bottom step, I heard a rustling sound and suddenly this moose appeared just a few feet away. I wanted to wake up Chris but didn't want to startle the moose so I sat there indecisively. Then I finally made up my mind and darted up the stairs and into the cabin. The screen door swung shut behind me with a loud bang but I rushed into Chris's room anyway to wake him. Fortunately, the moose was patient with my newbie behavior and was still waiting for this photo op when I darted back outside.
